AELTC – Wheelchair Tennis Exhibit
Wheelchair tennis is the fastest growing disabled sport, enjoying increased public interest in over 150 international championship events, taking place all over the world. I was briefed to create a display to raise awareness of the history of wheelchair tennis and the current position of the sport.

Integrating Wheelchair Tennis into AELTC Museum.
The exhibit blends bold graphics, images and objects from the world of Wheelchair Tennis and the powerful stories of the players. It’s both a visual history and a means to inspire visitors to learn about how they too can overcome obstacles in their lives and enable them to identify with their heroes.
The exhibition is also a showcase the work of artist Clare Newton, who worked in collaboration with the museum to create a set of artworks inspired by the players, their challenges, techniques, equipment and technology.
The solution combines Clare’s artwork with a graphic timeline, historic object display and central plinth with integrated object display and interactive touchscreens, designed by Fraser at Hall & Hall Design. It’s here, visitors learn about the world of Wheelchair tennis, its past, present and future stars and the incredible technology that drives the sport.
The result transforms a previously unloved area of the museum into an inspiring, surprising and memorable display.
